MAY 2022

April showers bring May flowers

Happy Cinco de Mayo! I hope you’re celebrating with some tacos and tequila today.

We have now entered the rainy season in Miami, and we’re starting to get more frequented showers, about which the 1,000+ plants we’ve planted throughout the venue are happy. The dualistic days, with sunshine in the mornings punctured by rainstorms in the afternoon, serve as a good reminder that each day is an ebb and flow of calm and chaos (at least when you’re working a full-time job, building up another business, and planning your wedding!).

May for us symbolizes a chance to slow down, refocus, and prepare. The days are still flying by with many items on the to-do, tours to host, projects to build, festivities to plan, etc. But we also don’t have any events in the venue this month, and we’re home for the majority of this 31-day span.

While part of me freaks out about not having events (no events = no revenue) this month, the overwhelming side of me is relieved to have a chance to catch up on the many tasks I have put off while soaking up the slower and quieter moments of the beauty that spring brings.

With that said, I am going to wrap up my thoughts for this newsletter with the below three things I have taken away from this experience over the past couple of months:

  1. Weeds grow with the flowers. “April showers bring May flowers” couldn’t be a truer saying in our venue. The colors of the foliage have never looked so vibrant with all the rain we have been getting. However, with the flowers come the weeds. While a previous version of myself might be incredibly frustrated by the weeds because it’s just one more thing on the to-do, my present version accepts them and to some degree, appreciates them. Weeds symbolize growth. With no weeds, the other plants probably wouldn’t be growing either. Weeding is also a motivation for me to get outside and spend hours in the sunshine when I normally would have excuses not to!

  2. Working with a wedding coordinator/planner is so important to making your big day run smoothly. While I understand from a budgeting standpoint that it may feel like one of the first things to cut, I highly recommend to anyone getting married that this is something they absolutely fit into the budget!

  3. As a vendor, working with other vendors we know, like, and trust has made a world of difference when executing a special event. When our clients utilize the services of a vendor we have on our preferred list, we can breathe a little easier on the big day. We know they will be on time, deliver well, and communicate with us along the way. Teamwork truly makes the dreamwork in this environment!

    Updates for TheGoWM…

    Last month we:

    • Brainstormed with the lovely Joy and Danielle from Purely Joyous Photography to bring to life a residency for this talented photography and styling duo in the venue

    • Collaborated with some of our preferred vendors to curate special packages for our clients that book us, making wedding and event planning easier than ever before

    • Continued to furnish and decorate the production suite (the “get-ready rooms,” if you will)

    • Conducted an interview with Oak and Keys, a media company focusing on real estate investing opportunities

    • Celebrated the one-year anniversary since we broke ground to build the venue!

    This month, we plan to:

    • Focus on planning our official grand opening party, which will be June 16! If you’re in the area, join us for our launch

    • Continue furnishing the production suite

    • Add some seating in the garden space

    • Build a SEO strategy for the website – yep, I’m still working on this

    • Plan some styled shoots for the summer

Our Asks…

This wouldn’t be a community space without the help from, well, our community! If you can assist us with any of the following, we’d greatly appreciate it.

  • Please subscribe to this monthly newsletter if you haven’t and share if you like what you read!

  • Please follow us on our social media pages: Instagram (@thegardenswm) and Facebook.

  • Please engage (share, like, comment, save) with our posts on social media.

  • Help us brainstorm events we can host in our space outside of private parties (e.g., wellness events, art galleries, concerts, gaming events, etc.).

  • Book a tour if you’re in the area and would like to see our space!

Thanks for tuning in this month!

Blog News: We love to connect with our clients and friends, and we publish a special newsletter every 1st Thursday of the month. We also provide a lot of wedding tips from our preferred vendors.

“You will find that most times you have a vision of what it is that you want to accomplish and that’s most important. It allows you to work backwards and make cuts and changes that will still reflect the overall outcome you wish to achieve. What good is splurging on one particular item if it doesn’t result in the overall outcome you were trying to create?

When I say that pictures and videos do not do this space justice, that is an understatement!! The Gardens of Weber Manor, in all of its whimsy and magic, is truly a perfect little nook in the heart of the Redlands. No matter what the vision or mood board, this venue and its versatility will allow you to transform it to match your wildest dreams. Add to that the fact that Mike & Emily are the absolute sweetest owners & venue managers, and there should be NOTHING holding you back from booking a tour and picking your wedding date that same day. It is clear that they have put their heart and souls into building up The Gardens from the ground up. So whether you’re planning a wedding, anniversary, birthday or corporate event, you need not look further.

The Gardens of Weber Manor is a hidden gem. This venue is magical. I can’t express how amazing it was working with Emily and Mike. They answered every question I had and made me feel that they had everything under control at all times. The staff was awesome!!! The rooms looked beautiful!!! I want to give a special thanks to Emily it was an absolute pleasure working with you. Everything went smoothly, easily and successfully thanks to Emily and Mike and the rest of the team. We felt like family from the time we started to plan the wedding and especially on our wedding day. Thanks to the Gardens of Weber Manor for the wedding of our dreams!

We cannot say enough good things about this venue and the owners, Emily & Mike! It is truly a hidden gem. The garden is absolutely gorgeous – you really don’t even need to decorate because the scenery has so much beauty all itself. There are so many spots throughout the venue that could be used for different parts of an event, and no matter where you turned it was a perfect photo backdrop. Our friends and family kept telling us how beautiful the venue was and wondering how we found it.
